Teleworks USA Begins Return to In-Person Services with Availability at JobSight Locations in Breathitt and Jackson County

Teleworks USA has been the premier option for connecting Eastern Kentuckians with legitimate work-from-home jobs for more than a decade, and beginning this summer job seekers can again expect to access services in person on an ongoing basis for the first time since COVID-19 pandemic restrictions were first put in place more than three years ago. 

An initiative of Eastern Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program (EKCEP), Inc., Teleworks USA brings cutting-edge telework (work-from-home) employment opportunities to job seekers, especially those in rural areas and small towns, allowing them to participate in the global economy without relocating. Since 2015, Teleworks USA has connected thousands of Kentuckians with new jobs with a variety of telework employers.  

When pandemic restrictions resulted in the closure of its nine hub locations in spring 2020, Teleworks USA shifted its services to a largely virtual model that included online workshops, info sessions, and job fairs. With those restrictions no longer in place, services will now include an in-person option at Kentucky Career Center JobSight locations throughout Eastern Kentucky, beginning immediately in Breathitt and Jackson counties. 

“It has been three years since Teleworks USA services were available at physical locations in Eastern Kentucky, and we’re excited to return to that model of in-person assistance,” said EKCEP Executive Director Becky Carnes-Miller. “Our Community Action partners have hired new staff specifically who can meet with jobseekers one-on-one to help connect them with remote-work opportunities.” 

With staff now in place at Kentucky Career Center JobSight locations in Breathitt and Jackson counties, anyone in those areas interested in a remote-work position can contact a dedicated career advisor for Teleworks USA services, which can include résumé building, assistance with applying for jobs, and even brushing up on basic computer skills, if needed. JobSight locations in those counties can be found online at jobsight.org/locations.  

Miller said she expects additional staff to become available within the service areas of EKCEP’s remaining JobSight partners within the coming months. In the meantime, Eastern Kentuckians can also call 866-800-0719 to connect with a Teleworks USA employment specialist to get started.

“Our number one goal is to connect people in Eastern Kentucky with job opportunities,” Carnes-Miller added. “We think returning to an in-person option will help us best serve jobseekers in our 23 counties with available resources.”
